TXPS Summer News

Hi Texas Pastel Society Members!

Hope you're having a great summer!  Here's a news update for the summer.  I'm working on additional--TPS Member Art Shows for August and September.  Hope you'll read on.  Thanks!

  • Members Art Shows:  1.)  Courtyard Cafe, Aug./ Sept.--Art Show/Exhibit at a San Antonio Restaurant --(We'll have a reception for this show.)  2.)  2017 San Antonio Home & Garden Show--Featured Artists-- Art Booth & Exhibit--(I've already paid a $100 deposit for this show.)  This will take place Sept. 29, 30, and Oct. 1.
*Please sign up through me.  Email:  cski02@sbcglobal.net or Call:  Studio--210.522.0706.  I can provide more details later if you are interested.  I need a response for both shows no later than July 10th.  There will be a limit of 10 members per show.   Thanks!
  • IAPS'12~~Connie Burkhardt, Vicki Smith, Denise Beard, and I attended the IAPS convention in Albuquerque, NM, this month.  Photos are available on our Facebook page.  Lots of inspiration, art demos, classes, and supplies through the trade show!  New Braunfels Artist--Rita Kirkman taught a workshop and her artwork was on the cover of the Art Exhibition catalog.  Way to go, Rita! (I also attached a photo from IAPS.)
  • I'm featuring our members' artwork on our TPS Facebook page.  So far, I have spotlighted Connie Burkhardt, Barbara Gadsby, and Tom Beasley.  Please send me your images with titles, sizes, etc.  I will post them on our page this summer to promote you and your pastel artwork.
  • I am currently working on putting together a nominations committee for new 2018 Board Members.  The following officer positions will be open:  President and Treasurer.  If you would like to volunteer or have a suggestion, please let me know.  Gaye Sekula, a new member, has volunteered to replace Kay Brooks for our secretary.  Our TPS election will take place in November 2017.  BIG Thanks!

Please stay in touch.  If you have art news, please send it to Kay Brooks and she can forward it to our members.

Stay inspired!
Cindy Morawski,
President, Texas Pastel Society
